The only new movie, of which I am aware, which features WWI aircraft is not a movie about WWI. "The Aviator" is about Howard Hughes in his younger days and includes scenes from the time he was director of the movie "Hell's Angels". The aircraft portion of the movie was shot in California during October and included 7 full scale Fokker D.VIIs, 1 original Thomas-Morse Scout and 5 full scale SE5As among others. I don't know if they will have any flying scenes, I'm not sure what was filmed. Then again they may try to do flying scenes with computer imaging or use enhanced versions of the original movie. I believe it is due out sometime in the spring of next year.
