The article Baldeagle links to at the top of this string says the working title is "Flyboys".

Thanks, Edward. I obviously overlooked the title.

Well I was interested until the producer was named as the one who made those turkeys 'Independence day' and 'The patriot' (Shudder!)
Third time lucky then I say! Lets see it when it comes out. A step in the right direction though undoubtedly.

Congratulations baldeagle!
This is exciting news and I look forward to seeing it. That British Nieuport is a beauty!
Good luck and enjoy the experience.

That is great news indeed!
Hopefully this is the first in a series of movies on the same subject
There certainly is enough material available to write a dozen movie-scripts.

Although I thoroughly applaud any attempt to make a film which has as its theme the role of aircraft and aviators during the "First Great Unpleasantness" ( there are precious few examples),I feel that such a film depicting the escapades of the "Hat in the Ring" escadrille is not at all representative of the aerial conflict during the war. Such a choice of subject although interesting in itself as a "docupic" or even a dramatised "docupic" is likely to give the wrong impression about the relative importance of the activities of the Luffberry escadrille. The "average" filmgoer who might choose to see this film may accept this as being definitive. One must be very careful how history is portrayed even when it is used for entertainment, as a restorer of ww1 aircraft I am very aware of the need for absolute un-biased accuracy when presenting something as historical fact.
I am sure that many decisions about this film are based on its perceived commercial viability but in the same way that we expect the media to portray news accurately and in its true context !!!!!!!!!! (sic.), I think that the producers of films for entertainment have a duty to do the same and not present us continually with what amounts to a politicized, often over-emotionalised view of the past historical role of one particular nation.
This is only my opinion and I hope that the film doesn't disappoint.

Well, we flew the Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter for a total of over 5 hours yesterday (FAA required fly-off time), and aside from one exciting moment when the wind shifted all was OK, it flies great, a little slow on the ailerons. It's quite something to be orbiting at 3,500 feet, watching a Sopwith shaped shadow with a rainbow around it go across a cloud, and looking down at the airfield to see parked there a Sunderland, a Marauder, a Connie, and a couple of P-51s. And 500 Ford Mustangs, for an ongoing special event.
Today we work on the Nieuport 17.

Real Cool!
Congratulations and good luck on the film!
We've been waiting for a good WW1 film. No matter what the critics say, I'll go see it.
Unless restricted, try to take plenty of photos yourself if possible. It would be a blast to follow the making of the picture right here on "The Aerodrome" with updates. Some of my friends were extras in "Titanic" and posted their candid pictures on a website after the film opened. Some were a real hoot to say the least.
Salute,
Steve
