The Dawn Patrol

I am an old aviation buff and R/C model builder and this is my first post. I am trying to identify the type of aircraft flown by the Allied unit in the 1938 Movie "Dawn Patrol" staring Errol Flynn and David Niven. Some of the shots on the ground show Nieport 28's but the ones in the air are different. Maybe some of you have seen the old movie and already know the answer, thanks in advance.

Bingo James! The rudder gives it away, Travel Air sure made a lot of airplanes back then, I found them in the Jupner "US Civil Aircraft" series", only one pix per model and (several could qualify), so could not tell which one for sure.
Thanks for the help, I will look further for the model.
