Hi Jan,
Thanks for posting this! For those of us who couldn't make it this time, it's going to go a ways to easing the pain of missing it.

Another Dawn Patrol DVD
Besides the one that I mentioned earlier, there is a "professionally" made DVD that includes the 2000 & 2003 DPs. DP super stars like Fred Murrin, Ross Walton, Rick Bennett and an army of others are at their best (in a cockpit) & flying their hardware. Vintage autos, WWI Reenacting, R/C scale models & lots of flying are also featured. Its the best 60 minutes of WWI replica entertainment for the money. It is narrated & produced by Stan Walsh who does this kind of thing for a living. If you want to see what the Dayton WW1 show is all about, it is a good one. I give it four stars...
For a copy, the AF Museum sells them or Stan Walsh’s DVD can be ordered directly from him at:
Stan Walsh Productions
4215 Miralste Drive
Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275-6528
310-831-5209

In my case, I ordered the video right before Christmas, and it was received this week - I would figure 1-2 weeks now that the holidays (except the bills ) are behind us.
Haven't had a chance to view it yet - hopefully this weekend (time time time).
Best regards,
Lee McDuffee

I've visited the USAF museum many times over the years and I was there for the 2005 Dawn Patrol (Sunday), but I've never seen the monument shown in the ad for the DVD about the Dawn Patrol event. Judging by the buildings in the background it looks like it might be just outside the gate to WPAFB itself, the gate that you go through on your way to the hanger that has all of the Presidential aircraft.
Is this a new structure? A photo composit ?
Just curious

The structure is about 3-4 years old now. It is outside at the next gate down from the AF Museum, where the Gov. employees enter for the AF Aeronautical Systems Center & AF Research Labs. It's outside the gate so the public can walk up and visit it.
Lee McDuffee (the WinterHawke) is actually in the Stan Walsh DVD test flying a Sopwith Talbot(?) on floats.
