BBC Series Wings
Does anyone have access to the 1st episode of "Wings" the BBC series which aired it the 70's? I have all the others and just need this one to complete the set. I have in mind to put them all on DVD. (Copyright permitting - it is not currently available anywhere)

If you email the BBC without a specific contact you could wait your whole life for a reply. I've never heard of the series but you've piqued my interest, can you tell me more? Who made it, and does it feature WW1 replica a/c?

Is this the same series I used to watch on the Discovery Channel? Each episode explored the development of a specific aircraft type. Usually WWII types I believe.

Bruno,
It was a period drama in many episodes set around an RFC squadron during WW1.
I can remember the C.O's name as Captain Triggers.
-Memory a bit hazy after 30+ years and of course no-one I knew had a video back then!
I have been looking in vain for a copy on any format, So Breguet can we form a queue to watch the episodes you have ?

A few years back Darryl the disappeared had a mate of his copy re runs from UKTV channel on pay TV, made up VCR copies and sent them to a few of us, I imagine Breguet being one. Not all episodes are there and copies of copies of copies on VCR aren't all that flash but an enjoyable watch from time to time. If the Beeb won't release the series then the next best thing is to keep an eye out for re runs on pay TV - or contact Darryl.

No, Vin. I didn't didn't get my copies from Darryl (who I still keep in touch with) and I have all bar the first one ie 24 episodes. When I get the 25th I plan to put them on to DVD's. It really was a tremendous series which so captured the period. I've been in contact with David Boddington (indirectly) who made the models and the full-size for the series and hope to find the missing first episode.
Cheers
Adrian

I did get a reply - and quite promptly actually. Unfortunately all they would say was that they had never released it and had no plans to do so
