Dambusters

This is off period, but Peter jackson has just announced that he will Produce the Dambusters. This is despite earlier denials, and is confirmed.

He might even build a full size mockup.

Hopefully we are in for another cycle of aviation movies.

Always thought there's a place for a decent Coastal Command convoy-strike movie somewhere.

Make a change from the fighter jockeys and bomber barons types, eh?

I noticed an article that on the ABC site yesterday. http://abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200609/s1730939.htm

Looks like we'll have to wait a while yet for PJ's long rumoured WW1 movie. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with it.

Egad! If Flyboys can give Nieuports the vertical performance of an F-16, just imagine what PJ's Lancs must do!

G'day Colin,

What a coincidence. Last Thursday I was at a little place called Cooyal interviewing a chap who served with the 8th Division and into the conversation I asked him about bravery. He replied that I should meet his mate Morrie.

He added that Morrie was either the bravest or dumbest bastard he had ever met. It turns out that Morrie was a tail gunner on one of the Dam Buster Raids. He phoned Morrie on my behalf and I will have the privilage of meeting Morrie next ANZAC Day as it is the only day of the year he is in town.

Regards,

Andrew

Vertical up or vertical down? I've heard of F-16s referred to as lawn darts.

Regards,

I can't personally vouch for the validity of this, but one of the pilots from CWHM http://www.warplane.com (the operators of the only civilian flying Lancaster in the world) indicated to me that there were already full size mock-up(s) under construction in the UK for this film.

Can anyone else speak to this claim?
