It is on DVD. I think my daughter found a copy at the city library for me to see. It certainly was colorized...no doubt about it.

Cool WW 1 in Color!!!!!

Thanks, Jasta 5 von Muller, for posting this color footage! It seems to me that it has been pieced together but at the same time a lot of the film was new to me. Nice to see the Baron's plane in color even though it's crude by today's standards.

Always good to see, even if some of that was colorized footage of WINGS and HELL'S ANGELS.

Wow. Some excellent footage in there. It's nice to see the manfred Von Richtofen in color. It adds to the feeling of his humaness.

I'm glad you posted this because I never thought to look for videos of WWI on youtube. I don't know why, I just didn't. I watched all of them and found them very enlightening. They help with the pronunciation of some of the French and German terms I couldn't figure out with dictionary.com pronunciation guide.

I have seen that DVD.
To be fair I don't think it adds a lot to the original film. I think the purpose of the added colours was simply to sell more DVD's with a gimmick 'wow' factor.

A lot of the earlier episodes are very off with their colours which is not a good thing,1914 French in horizon blue for instance.

Its probably worth it if you spot it for a couple of pounds or so in a remainder bin but you won't learn anything new from it. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it.

Hi Regulus!

Those youtube clips posted on your website are from my film "The Great War In The Air". I sure don't mind you putting them up there, after all, I did make this documentary to be seen. If you'd like to credit me with a link, the entire four-plus hour film can be watched (in order) at http://www.raindesert.com/great_war/...r_entrance.htm

This is my band and restaurant's website. Thanks MUCH for passing along the film. Peace.
