HOLLYWOOD (Reuters) - Producers of the long-anticipated The Red Baron (German title: Der Rote Baron) had expressed interest in contracting renowned WWI historian Stephen Lawson as a special adviser for the film's alternate ending, but decided to hire the much more imaginative O.J. "If I did it" Simpson instead.
Directer Nikolai Müllerschön, currently on location in Baden-Württemberg, Germany was pleased with the choice and in a telephone conversation with this reporter remarked: "Honestly, I don't know how hiring Stephen would have worked out. The writer has Capt.
Roy Brown shooting the Baron down, and my contract stipulates only one conspiracy theorist be allowed on the set at any given time."
Lawson withheld comment but did have this to say: "If the bullet doesn't fit, you must acquit!"
