Dogfights Lowdown

Just heard from one of the producers:

There are 3 more episodes of season 2 which are in production right now. Then there’s a two-hour special to wrap up…but that appears to be the last of it for Dogfights.

Too bad. I'll take Dogfights over Modern Marvels: Cheese any day.

Barrett:

That is terrible news. I look forward in seeing these new episodes along with the two hour special. Do you know what the topic of the episodes are?

Why is it that aviation shows are the most sot after but the first to go this also goes for networks too like Wings.

I'm glad some of our member here had the opportunity to work on some of the shows. We should also take about their contributions like Tim West for some of his CG work.

Lets here from you guys on your experience on working on the show.

My hats off to the producers in bring us these great shows while they lasted and I will be watching a lot of reruns from now on....

Lloyd...

Chaps, I asked what the other segments will be but haven't heard back. The one I know fershure was the low-level ratrace over Belgium on 1-1-45. There's an upcoming article in Flight Journal about one of the P51 pilots engaged: we've ID'd the T-bolt pilot he saved and it should be an excellent segment.

Far as I can tell, there's no GW episodes in the remaining programs.

Great news, Barrett. That will leave more slots open for REAL historical fare like Ice Road Truckers and Monsterquest.

"I dunno but I been tol'..."

In the next coupla years THC will have more food and even shopping type programming. I can believe it--witness "American Eats" with thrilling histories of the evolution of the frankfurter and the french fry!

Sheesh....

I do know there's a consortium (you can look it up) of investors expressing semi-serious interest in a WW II channel. Considering that THC rose to prominence as The Hitler Channel, obviously there's a market.

Anybody paying attention out there?

You gotta wonder what these programmers are thinking sometimes. Turn on SPEED some time and try to find an actual auto race... I dare you.

You're more likely to find some over-body pierced, tattooed 20-something wannabe putting $40,000 stereo speakers into a van that any sane person would be embarrassed to drive.

Sigh.

Regular TV and/or cable is just full of this pinks, punks, and perverts programming.

Hey, whatever happen to commercials free cable TV either? There's as many interruptions for commercial ads on cable TV now as there is on our public broadcast stations!

(I want a share-holder's return on my personal subsidy of paying cable TV to advertise to myself)

Don't get me started on SPEED Channel. Speedvision was a wonderful channel ruined by $ chasing more $. Went from cars that turned left and right to left turn only racing.
