Hi Willi,
Thanks for the kind remarks! I'm planning to post low res versions of this animation on my own web site as I complete them. The web master here at the Aerodrome gave me the go ahead to post links here on the Forum. There will be no charge to see the small version on my site. I have no idea what if anything will happen beyond that. I would love to do many more of these.
The first animation tests will start rolling out within the next week. Stay tuned!

Thanks, Jenny! Sounds yummy, of course, but we've got to have something to drink! (if anyone is interested, you can stop by my blog where I devote special attention to cognac, cocktails and recipes that include spirits!)
The thumbnails are looking great - I can't wait to see this when it's done - I had no idea you could do the things you're doing with computers - guess that shows where I've been! - but when I first read this thread I had something in mind that looked like Wallace and Gromit, but this is way better!

Hi Michael!
Just throwing in my penny's worth of support and congratulations! It looks fantastic and I've been following this with a great deal of interest since the beginning! My sincerest congratulations to you!
It is also interesting for me because MvR's aeroplane here would be very similar to the one (if not the same?) as the one he flew when he shot down his first "official" aircraft - the FE2b of Morris and Rees. I've a great interest in this particular fight because Rees was a Welshman and I've come into contact with his family. This particular encounter was described in some detail by MvR too........and so, if you are looking for another project.........to continue with a series of films on MvR...........how about this one??
Anyway, my congratulations to you again on fantastic work or as we say in Wales - llongyfarchiadau!
Trebrys!

Hi Trebrys!
Thanks for the enthusiastic support! The Aerodrome Forum has been an incredible help to me in this project. Not only have I met many people with a wealth of information on this subject, the interest in my little project keeps me working away on it at every free moment.
MvR won victories nos. 1 through 16 and nos. 19 through 24 in a DII. I have no idea if MvR started modifying the paint scheme of his DII over time. It seems a safe bet that all victories prior to Hawker were in a standard issue paint scheme DII. If anyone reading this has information about the evolution of MvR's DII paint scheme please chime in.
I'd love to animate all 80 of MvR's victories. There are so many great pilots, René Fonck, Billy Bishop, Guynemer, Voss, I will for certain run out of time before I cover a fraction of the history.
Thanks for checking in from Wales. Fantastic to know that there are people all over the world with the same interest that I have.
