My personal babelfish, the lovely Anna, has tweaked the translation a little. Now can anyone polish the English so that it scans, rhymes and fits the music?

Kranze does mean wreath but it also means flowers worn as a headdress. Wreath sounds a bit like a funeral although of course there are laurel wreaths worn on the head.

I've translated Kind as child but perhaps girl might be more apt for PC reasons.
