The latest video for the upcoming book THE STAND: The Final Flight of Lt. Frank Luke, Jr. was released this morning, previewing some of the amazing "then and now" photographs to be featured in the new book on America's flamboyant air ace of World War I. The video is now available for viewing on "The Documentary" page of the book's official web site, THESTANDfrankluke. com.

"When you're dealing with a mystery this old, the only way to figure out what really happened is to get up and go," said THE STAND author Stephen Skinner. "There's just no substitute for being there. One of my primary goals in France was to recreate the village of Murvaux exactly as it was in 1918, including all the German military installations that were there at the time. Only then would we have a real chance at unraveling what occurred in Luke's last moments."

The latest entry in the video series takes viewers to the village of Murvaux, near the spot where Medal of Honor ace Frank Luke was found dead on 29 September 1918, and shows how the 2007 Frank Luke Discovery Expedition found rare, unpublished photos of the area and recreated them for use in THE STAND.

Agreements have been reached with two major World War I aviation organizations who are now official presenting sponsors of THE STAND: The Final Flight of Lt. Frank Luke, Jr.

The League of WWI Aviation Historians is the country's primary organization for such studies and includes many casual enthusiasts and historians as well as nearly every serious WWI aviation researcher in North America.
