Paint schemes.

I can't vouch for the accuracy of the color schemes but there were at least some recognizable aircraft. That is what led me to wonder if some of the pilot's actually flew with MvR. I pretty sure that I saw the black and white striped triplane of Ernst Udet (Jasta 4) and I'm sure I saw one in the markings of Josef Jacobs (Jasta 7). They did give Lothar Von Richthofen yellow trimmed aircraft.
I will have to sit down with a couple of profile books and watch it again just to try to spot specific aircraft. I didn't to think to watch for it at the time but I also want to see if they kept up with changes in insignia as the war progressed.

as i can remember MvR talks to Udet while they were hanging over a card
of the battlefield. And Boelcke is dead already. He just appears as a photo on MvR`s desk..

As von Schaller points out Boelcke is dead at the time of the story. The story seems to pick up MvR about the time that he was flying Albatross DIIIs. It doesn't touch on his time in two seaters or the earlier aircraft that he flew such as the Fokker DII. No mention of Halberstadts either. I'm not sure if any Albatross DIIs are shown. I don't think I saw any Nieuports or Sopwith Pups.

There are two scenes that show Boelcke photo as in one of scenes MvR is looking at Boelcke photo and remembering him and asking himself if he can live up to Boelcke's expectations.

Mate,
I thought that MvR flew D.II's as his first, with Boelcke, at least that is what I think I read somewhere.
