Manfred the Movie- new MvR feature film?

I found something weird on youtube that is made to look like a trailer for a new Manfred von Richthofen movie.

It was added in mid-June so is still quite new. It puzzled me- I thought it could only be a hoax but I liked the message that clip brought across.
“When he was finally shot down and killed – he was buried with full military honors – BY THE ENEMY- why did they do this?”
I tried to access the website www.manfredthemovie.com but it requires a password.

So I wrote an email to info@manfredthemovie.com, not too friendly, I suppose, because by that time I was beginning to feel spoofed, to say the least.
I did not expect a reply but I got one which I quote here because it is interesting:

Chris,
I cannot reveal details about the project to the general public just yet and the website exists purely for the use of those working on the film. The website is secure for a reason and will remain so until the film is scheduled for general release.
Christopher

A visit to his website (christophernicholson.com) showed that Christopher is obviously a writer/director and is working on a 35mm feature film called "Manfred".
I stilll don’t know what to make of this.

Have you heard about it? What do you think?

Looks really strange... the trailer is a mix of real WWI footage, some scenes from Hells Angels and a few others I can't identify like that Fokker EIII attacking a Camel

Let us know if you get any reply to your email...

It also looks like they took some footage from stella artois beer ad. The german infantry officer as he looks at the camel burning overhead.

I cast my vote that this is either a hoax or some kid's hobby/school project. The inclusion of "found" videos, especially the Beer commercial makes me this this is a very amateur offering.

Not a spoof or a school boy prank. This is a very real motion picture project, curenently sourcing funds and doing some preproduction. I have read the script and its very good, we are involved in the back ground with providing A/C both flying and static, but at this stage are unable by disclosure contracts to say any more. Keep your ears to the ground and more to the point fingers crossed that all the funding can be raised

Here we go again....

While its true that the theme of Great War aviation has not produced a decent movie in at least 40 years ( I haven't seen "The Red Baron" yet so I may be somewhat unfair), it HAS produced one dynamite beer commercial.

Everythings a tradeoff I suppose.

I did not know about the Stella Artois commercial. That's where the "Eindekker Vs. Camel" scene came from.

Thank you, Major L- this is EXACTLY what I was hoping to hear. You have read the script- oh my gaaawd I wish I could read your mind... I'll keep a candle burning and say my prayers every night so nothing can go wrong with the project (and its funding) from this moment on
May it not suffer the same fate as WARRIOR SON.
Does anyone remember that one?
