What Happened to 1930 Hell's Angels aircraft?

Only lead I have is that Charlie 'Red' Jensen, of Sacramento, California bought some of them. Does anyone know how many he bought and what happened to the rest.

Thanks

I've been wondering that myself. There was like dozens of Fokker DVII's in the film. But Howard Hughs did have some of the aircraft destroyed during filming, which sadly decimated the numbers of original WW1 aircraft. It must be the reason for there are a handfull of surviving DVII's today

To my knowledge one of the Fokker D7s, the only one to survive out of the half dozen or so Hughes collected, appeared in William Wellmans' "Men with Wings" in 1938, after it was acquired by Paul Mantz. The only genuine example of the type among a whole bunch of Travelair "Wichita" Fokkers used in this movie. I believe Mantz held on to it for many years as part of the Tallmantz collection.

Frank Tallman talks about this D.VII in his book "Flying The Old Planes." By the early 60's I think it was powered by an American built Hispano Suiza V-8.
