CGI Zeppelin sequence on YouTube

F.Y.I., YouTube offers scenes from a 2008 Russian film titled "The Real Russian Detective" and they have some interesting CGI work: a Zepp sequence, one about Big Bertha and one about a submarine.

The events shown appear to be fictional, but they are "eye candy" for WW I buffs of air, land and sea operations.

Here are the links:

Hi Peter,

Thanks so much for posting these! I think we've discussed these 'unusual' Russian videos here on the froum before.

That VERY low-flying Zepp shows some distinct Jules Verne influence (and that weird U-Boat even more so!). I enjoyed the very boxy, un-streamlined (and apparently armored?) "sub-cloud car" from which two crew members drop some devastating hand-held bombs!! The real sub-cloud car (Spahkorb) was used by Army Zeppelins for observers to direct the airship while it remained hidden in the clouds above, and was quite streamlined (though it weighed half a ton). A better look at the Spahkorb is found, of course, in the classic "Hell's Angels".

I also liked the "dorsal" fin that literally looked like a fish's fin. But, it is a great visual image that they put together on this clip.

The Big Bertha clip was also really interesting to watch.

Thanks for posting and sharing.
