Geez, I was a boy of 10 when my father took me downtown to the Hippodrome Theater to see that movie. One of those fancy movie theaters- they even sold a program book that I still have. Dad was a bit nervous when Ursula Andress showed up in her towel...

I've heard Peter Jackson wants to re-do "The Blue Max". Heck, he's already got Stachel's Pfalz! Anyone else hear this?

I believe Peter has both the Pfalz from The Blue Max. At least one of them is in flying condition; not sure about the second (maybe that's on display?)

Just went looking to see if I could find more about PJ's aircraft collection. Astonishing. Billed as the larget collection of WW1 aircraft anywhere in the world.

Sopwith Camel, Sopwith Triplane, Fokker Dr 1, Fokker D.VII, Se5a, Etrich Taube, Morane Saulnier BB, Halberstadt D.IV, Nieuport 24, Nieuport 27, Airco DH 5, Airco DH 4, Airco DH 2, Fokker E.III Eindekker, RE8, Albatros B.II, Siemens-Shuckert D.IV, Pfalz D.III, Breguet 14 A2, BE2c.

Umm. WOW. I've also seen pics of his warehouse where he manufactures and repairs these aircraft, and makes replica bits that he can't own (machine guns)...massive.

Here's a nice pic.

I for one hope he doesn't. I agree with Michael Caine when he said if you're going to do a remake, remake a flop. If he has to do a remake (and it's very much the fashion these days) he's got plenty of flops to pick from.
