That's good news Major. I ordered mine not long after you (I think), yet to receive it, but it's a long way from Finland to Australia.

Recived my copy of the BBC's 'Wings' yesterday. Not as far away as Aus, but getting the DVD only 4 days after ordering was a pleasant surprise.
At this point I've only watched the first of 5 DVDs in the package. Audio is very good while the picture has a slight 'wateriness' to it reminiscent of too many tape-to-tape copies, some subtle jerkiness to the images but generally just fine.
I watched this when it appeared on Boston PBS in the late 1970s and it brought back instant memories, all of them good.
The 504 and BE2 look great.
I would recommend this to anyone.
Regards,
John

I would agree with your coments John, it is still i think the best that is available at the moment. Its certainly better than the Rare TV version.
One can only hope that one day the BBC will release it

If any of you in the UK brought a copy off Ebay then it was from me. I still have copies available if anyone wants to buy. I will only ship to the UK.

I received my copy today. Threw it in the DVD player to check on the quality. Now, it's not brilliant, but it WAS 1977/78, and UK TV format, and obviously copied from an old VHS tape...

But it's worth it for its significance. I just like to get my hands on everything WW1 aviation related, and not to be too critical.

Thanks everyone for your input and your assistance. I'll probably get to watch these over the next couple of weeks.

Wish I'd seen this thred earlier. I have a full set I made myself from the UK TV airing. The videos linked to earlier in the thread are from my copy. I loved the series and it inspired me. I now have a 1/5th scale BE:

and hope in the near future to have a 1/5th Fokker EIII to go with it.

Breguet,

Indeed I wish you'd seen it as well. I don't know whether your copy is of higher or lower quality, but this is certainly watchable (watching episode 7 now [2am], got through 1-6 Sat and Sun whilst at work...well, I'll only watch them when I'm at work during the long long long nights).

Thanks for attaching the footage of your scale BE2c. I have had the privilege of seeing this footage on the ASWW1AH website, and it's great. Hope everyone here watches it and enjoys it as much as I did. Sadly, the vid has been removed from the website (unless it's still available from the "archive" link Andrew Smith provided) to make room for pics of the Art & Model Show we had in August. A pity you didn't enter your BE2c, as I'd have enjoyed seeing her up close.

Yes mate I still have quite a few copies available. £30 (inc P&P) for the entire series spread across 5 dvd's. PM me with your details and I'll get a copy out to you straight away. I only post to the UK. Ebay didn't like me selling these.
