The RED BARON OUT ON BLU-RAY AND DVD in DECEMBER 2009 in AUSTRALIA.

Hi,

I just saw THE RED BARON movie that is coming out in Australia on DVD and BLU-RAY in DECEMBER 2009.This film blew my mind, it was an aviation buffs dream come true. For years i thought it would be great to see a WW1 aviation film with the latest CGI and how great that would be. Well, here it is. Now, the CGI is fantastic and is second to none , it is beautifull, on BLU-RAY and on a big plasma TV it looks amazing. The Wonderful aircraft they depict in the film is great , they dont just have the Baron in a DR.1 they have the film start with him in a Albatross D.111 with the wood grain finish. The sounds and Lighting are great and so realistic. On Blu-Ray it just comes right out and grabs you. The plot is nothing to special, just standard fighter pilot plot line. But the battle scenes are well worth it. They have Til schieger playing Werner Voss and they also show Kurt wolf flying, Brother Lothar, and the rest of Jasta 11 which is great and shows this Baron film is not so Red Baroncentric. So if you have not seen it, go and see it you'll be crying out for more wonderful battle scenes, and look there should have been more but heck they have done well with a 2000000 euro budget. So just enjoy itfor wha it is and dont have to greater expectation for action 100% of the time as that is sadly unrealistic, but I'm sure you'll appreciate the amount of authenticity that has gone into this representation. ( This film has rekndled my love of ww1 aviation i hope you enjoy it.

I scored a poster which is a big battle scene which is great and the Aussies are releasing a 94 minute version which has the battle with Leone Hawker and is the best edited version I've seen. Eagle Entertainment is releasing it, they have a great trailer on their website.

With all due respect Herr Baron,

You should wear your monocle more often. The release date given on the Eagle Entertainment site is January 2010. The movie to the left of "The Red Baron" is the one being released in December 2009.

Still...good news, and the trailer seemed ok.

I'll get a copy of course, and wait till Peter jackson releases news of his film. (No...nothing that I know of...but he MUST have plans considering the huge number of flying WW1 replicas he has built. There were rumours that he was planning to re-make "The Blue Max" but they are only rumours).
