Recent visit to the Australian War Memorial

I was in Canberra earlier this month, and spent a day in the Australian War Memorial. i could have taken 1000 pics and hardly scratch the surface. the Memorial was incredible. I was only dissapointed in the fact they had a single aircraft from the Great War on Display! the MVR display was pretty good, altho his boots were no longer on display

thank you for the pics. it is always helpful to be able to plan (and manage expectations) when considering a long trip from europe to australia which in my case would obviously include a visit to the war memorial.

why would MvR's boots be taken off display? is there a shortage of (and competition for) "shelf" space? there are so few objects left from ww1 aviation (let alone connected to MvR) that this seems to be quite unthinking on the part of a bureaucrat... or are the boots perhaps on loan somewhere?
