fokker 6796

I found amongst my photos an image of a DVII # 6796 hanging from the roof of a museum, alongside a spad (vieux charles) and a Pfalz DXII.
Which museum am I looking at?
I have no idea wheree the image came from except that it would have been one of my parents many overseas tours.
Of interest is the purple coloured tapes on the lozenge wings....

musee de l'air

Thanks Froggy.

To your knowledge, are these the original coverings or new?
I do believe vieux charles looks old enough to be original!

Re-Bonjour

The SPAD VII No S 254 of Guynemer is one of very few aircraft currently on display in the world, having belonged to an Ace of the 1st World War.
This Spad VII allowed Guynemer to win 19 victories confirmed in six months of fighting, exceptionnal durability at that l time for an aircraft...

It was restored several time but the original fabric was preserved.

You can see here the same plane when exposed at the Invalides in 1917
after death of Guynemer

Hello Bruno,

Thanks for all of the great fotografs and links.
I liked the colored ones at the museum, but this one is especially clean:

Best Wishes, Jay

P.S. It looks like the old AIRFIX decals were pretty good after all!

Then that, I take it, is an original version of "high yellow"? I've been to Paris three times and highlight was to visit the Grand Gallery. I knew, off course, that Guynemers aircraft was one hundred percent original, I never looked at it quite that way. Next time.
