Serbian aviation museum

Just for the record, I was flying out of Belgrade (Serbia) a few weeks ago and I had a little time to go over and see the aviation collection.

Unsurprisingly, there is very little in the 1914-18 period: a few maps and photos on a couple of panels and no actual aircraft, except for one Nieuport (11?) suspended from the ceiling in French colors. Could it be a replica?

The Nieuport XI is a replica, flew flew in France under registration F-WZBC. A good picture of the machine hanging down from the ceiling in the Belgrade museum can be found here.

Have you seen the replica of the interesting monoplane built by Ivan Sarić around 1910, which is in the museum ?

Cheers

Kees

Yes, thank you Kees.
The Saric monoplane is there (first exhibit) and then after the Nieuport one comes to an interwar biplane, and so on.

There are assorted communist-era a/c parked outside. The museum is about a 5 min. walk from the airport terminal building (ask for directions as it is not really well marked, at least for tourists like me!)

My Gallery
Nieuport plane is replica exchanged with Cole Palen, as I know it have original engine. Some more material is stored in the depot, like the remains of the Albatros engine recovered from Dojran lake. Some over thousand of images at all is known related to the Serbian aviation but I don't know how many is available in public service.

Cheers
