RAF 43rd Wing (Texas)

Colleagues,

I have come across a passing reference to the RAF having a 43rd Wing in Texas during WW1. I'd be very grateful for any information on same.

Regards,
Philip

Along with Nos 42 and 44 Wings, No 43 Wing was formed in October 1917, somewhere in Canada. As far as I can make out, all subsequently moved into the USA (better weather conditions for flying training?) and disbanded some time during 1919.

RFC Canadian training

See the last article. 43 Wing (like the other two) only went to Texas during the winter months.
