Word and Phrase Origins

this is most useful... i wasn't even sure of the pronunciation of "wind up" -- I guess because I work in finance and companies get "wound up" (shut down).
marc p.s. it's also good to have a British friend close by because they preserve a lot of the slang used by their forefathers! |
