Well done. If you follow the links to the right of "Chanson de Craonne" you come to a series of videos titled "Temoignoges de Poilus" which is a compilation of interviews of France's "old guard". I suppose these must have taken place at least 7-8 years ago when there were still a few Great War veterans remaining. The period films are marvelous and though I can speak about zero French much can be gained by inference.
Another video "Chabot Solo" is short, interesting and a bit funny. An old RFC pilot looks back on his observer "stinker". You can see this vid by typing the title in the links "search" window.

Here, you'ill find a site with translation of Chanson de Craonne United for Peace of Pierce County, WA - We nonviolently oppose the reliance on unilateral military actions rather than cooperative diplomacy. This song can appear revolutionary or antimilitarist. It was moreover forbidden until 1974! In fact I believe that it is the most poignant french song of the first world war!  Cordialement Bruno
