if you can read sheet music there's this:

Amazon.com: Oh! It's A Lovely War: Songs, Ballads and Parodies of…
Oh! It's a Lovely War - Songs, Ballads & Parodies of the Great War Piano Vocal Guitar: Amazon.co.uk: Books

it's almost exclusively British. but it's a very interesting read. can't say that any of them were "hits", exactly. but I enjoyed playing through the songs on the piano and studying them.

I've heard of some of them, but Lil Liza Jane is the only one I play. I believe it's an old fiddle tune and was around long before the GW.

this is another Austro-Hungarian song:

Code:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8bCphnJ2zc&feature=related
"If i go to the Doberdo Battlefield!"

Kimegyek a doberdói harctérre
feltekintek a csillagos nagy égre
csillagos ég merre van a magyar hazám
merre sirat engem az édesanyám
én istenem hol fogok én meghalni
hol fog az én piros vérem kifolyni
itália közepébe lesz a sírom
édesanyám arra kérem ne sírjon
feladom a levelem a postára
rátalál az édesanyám házára
olvasd anyám vérrel írott levelemet
doberdónál hagyom az életemet
édesanyám nem írok több levelet
puskagolyó lőtte el a szívemet
eltemetnek az erdei gyöngyvirágok
megsiratnak a falumbeli leányok.

I like the World war Hungarian songs!
