WWI songs

Nice link Barrett,

I lived in England for 23 years, my wife is English, we lived in Maidenhead.
This WWI site reminds me of the great characters I knew there and the stories they told me over a pint or two in public houses I have frequented.
Thanks for posting this link.

Todd

Wonderful Link

Thank you, Barrett, for this link.

At my mother's 90th birthday party (in the nursing home where she then lived), the residents were all singing Great War songs, and the 20-something staff were astonished that everyone seemed to know the lyrics. The professional singer leading all the songs explained that this was the generation born during or just after World War I, who had grown up listening to these songs being sung around the family piano on holiday evenings. "There's a Long, Long Trail" and "Tipperary" were the favorites.
