Are there any details on all red clour schemes for DVIII's??

This is my first post after scanning the site..lots of good stuff here!

Welcome aboard the flagship Aerodrome, where history not only comes alive, but we talk quite a bit about it. Some the greatest minds on this planet, offer something to the conversation. So Welcome!!!!!!!

At any rate I've been flying a Nieuport 28 C1 in 1/4 scale for two seasons and am about to cover an RAF SE 5a. I'm on the shady side of sixty now and the big slow WWI fighters are just my cuppa tea. There's a Pfalz in the future even if I have to generate my own plans and scratch it out, I just need to get the shapes and dimentions right, it's not rocket science. Happy landings Doc:

Thumbs up

Just to say that I think this is a great forum and has been very helpful to me in my role as a guide at the Aviation Heritage Centre, here in Blenheim at the top of the South Island in New Zealand, where we have on display about 20 original and replica WW1 aircraft (12 airworthy and 2 the only ones in the world), memorabilia galore and heaps of enlarged photos.

Unfortunately we don't have a great deal of information about the photos! Hence there'll be quite a few questions, some of which have already been answered.

Anyone heading our way will be assured of a warm welcome.

Hi All,
Greetings from Bauxite, Arkansas. Look forward to having a nice stay here. The history and experts are top notch bar none. Ya'll definetly have it going on.
I'm currently doing a rc camel in Capt. Field Kindley's colors. The info here has been great, so I will be asking alot of questions. I also found out while surfing this site, one of his camels is about 20 miles from my house at the Aerospace Edu. Center at Little Rock. I will be going there to check it out. Any help at all will be greatley appreciated, so I can get it as close to scale as possable. E1539 is the camel theme I'm doing, but he also flew D1878 and D8245. It's not just about a airplane kit anymore, it's about the man and the times.
I do want to thank you all for a great web site. I will do my best to do justice to the man and the plane for the respect they both deserve.
Thanks to all

Flying WW I

Just to say Hi, and let people know I am here. Just lurking and reveling in all the information I have been able to glean from this site. My affection for planes has been of course since a child, I soloed in an Aeronca Champion in 1945 at the age of 15 and of course my inoculation period had been many years previously. The WW I era of planes has been a fascination for 'lo these many years. I am going to try to post some fotos of some rather large WW I radio control planes built by my friend and what a collection there is. Thanks for this site it's a Gold Medal winner.

Hello,

I am a member of the WW1 forum and have been reffered to the experts on the Aerodrome for some help. For many years I have been trying to trace the citation and or Squadron diary to see if I could work out how he was awarded his DFC. He is one of the Aegean theatre awards having served with the RNAS D Squadron later I think to become 221 Squadron flying DH 9s out of Stavros and Mudros. So the details are:
Flt Lt Robert Geddes Spence RNAS/RAF flew as a pilot on DH9's serving with F Squadron in Stavros and laterly 221 Squadron he shot down in late 1918 after bombing the Bulgars finally getting back to allied lines a few days later. He was awarded the DFC in the London Gazette of 1 Jan 1919.
Any help in this quest would be greatly appreciated, and hello to all of you.
Thanks,
Rob
