Doug- Welcome to the Forum. I think I built my first WWI model in 1959 or so and my last one in 1965. There are tons of really good modelers here, though, building and displaying them on the site. They use techniques unknown when I built models, and wondrous to me. Glad you turned from a lurker to a player. I look forward to seeing some of your work.

Howdy To The Two Tennessee Dougs

Howdy there Doug and Doug, I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, about 20 miles south of the Tennessee border and dated a girl from Pulaski while I was in college. It is nice to see more southerners in the Forum.

Taz is correct. We are blessed with some excellent modelers here in the Forum. I always kid guys like Russ Moorhouse that one April Fool's Day I am going to throw together a really crappy composite model and then "proudly" display my work in the Modelling Section with full bragging rights. I'll probably be burned at the stake when I do.

I am a retired Army brigade commander who came up through the ranks from private so I have been around the track a few times. I also possess a decent collection of WWI aircraft and pilot photographs. Let me know if you are working on a project and need a particular item since I might just be able to help. I share what I have. Anyway guys welcome aboard, strap in and have fun.
