Hey From Ottawa
Hey everyone, I'm a 15 year old guy named Tom from Ottawa, Canada and I am completly fascinated by WW1 aviation. It all started in my grade 10 history class in March when I first heard about Billy Bishop. I went home and began to look up WW1 aviation websites and research about the aces and the planes they flew. I have been looking for as many books and websites about WW1 and I can't seem to get enough of it. I know how fast certain planes are, who would win in a dogfight, the amount of victories many of the famous aces had, and much more. I now play Red Baron 3D and my favorite planes are the Nieuport 17 and the Sopwith Triplane. I hope to learn a lot more through this forum and to meet a lot more aviation enthusiants.

Welcome!
Hi Tommy,
Good to see you have found this forum! I think most of us old-timers developed our interest in WWI aviation at an early age. It really seems to be something that sticks with you through your entire life.
Best regards,
Tom P.

Tommy... welcome aboard from the southern shore of Lake Erie. I started in on WW1 models at a young age myself. You have a definate advantage with this site. If you need questions answered, this is the place to come. There are many folks here with lots of knowledge and experience willing to share.
Best of luck to you in your modelling career.

I hope you,ve made it to the National Aviation Museum at Rockcliffe.

Hi Tommy,
I, too, became interested in this "hobby" in my youth somewhere back in the mid-1960's. It sure has become addictive. Between all my books and models, well, that is why I will never be a rich man - haha.
Welcome and enjoy!

Hi Tommy..
I'm a considerably older guy named Tom in the Florida Panhandle, but I know Ottawa fairly well. My father was born just across the river in Quebec, in a little place called Perkins Mill back then. I suppose it now has a French name that I cannot pronounce! There are still a number of relatives living in the surrounding area. There's a lot of knowledge about WW1 aviation here at the Aerodrome, so take it all in and enjoy!

Hi Tommy
I too am 15 years old. I got interested in flying when I was 7 years old when my dad started reading Biggles books to my brother and I. Since then I have read as much as I can about WWI and WWII flying since. At the church we attend is a group of like-minded guys which is really cool. We have great time swapping info; and trying to shoot each other dowm on flight sims.
So long
