Dacattack Attacks ! ! ! !

Hey everyone. New guy reporting in,. . . . f'ya want you can just call me David.

A little about myself - I've been a designer/animator for about 10 years now, always putting long hours and effort in to other peoples projects and work and getting little reward - and money for it.

In 2007, i was working at a studio where 90hr work-weeks were the norm and i became extremely unhappy. SO i decided to refocus and take a better job closer to home and concentrate on what i artistically want to do, and one of those is Military/Aviation artwork and illustrations.

I'll admit im a novice when it comes to aviation know-how and history and im hoping to get schooled on it by great communities such as this.

I'm currently working on an Albatros D.III and i've also completed just recently a Nieuport 17,. . . all of which can be checked out at my site.

Thanks

David

Hi David:

Welcome to the greatest WW1 aviation forum, you will find a lot of experts here on all different areas of early aviation. Make sure to try the Search function to look up past topics.

It's good to see another artist here and look forward in seeing more of your work. You will find some of the finest WW1 aviation artist here.

P.S.
Do you know Tim West? If you do have you heard from him at all this year? He is one of our 3D artist that had worked on the History Channel's Dogfight show. He has been missing for eight months now.

David welcome aboard. This is the place to learn.

I must commend you on your work. Outstanding!! I zipped through your site and I am very impressed.

Perhaps you are familiar with Andrei Koribaniks work? An outstanding modeler, and an artist of the highest caliber like yourself.

Good to have you on our side.

Albatros D.III

Hello David Collins,

Welcome to the Aerodrome.
I also visited your site. Very impressive!
I was checking out your Albatros D.III.
I don't have much information on aircraft engines.
I just recently became aware of the possibility of dual magnetos, I had no idea of the possibility of dual spark plugs. Thanks for sharing and the detailed engine education.
I look forward to more.

Don't forget about the elegant washout on the aileron tips, it's often overlooked by many! You may also want to make an optional rudder for the O.A.W. version.

Best Wishes, FOKKERJ

Welcome Dave

I enjoyed the step-by-step buildup of the Nieuport 17 illustration! If you're interested, check out the numerous posts comparing the Seminole and Sioux Indian squadron logos for N124 using the forum Search option!
You should have a great time rattling about in this forum.
