Hello

Hello
I have joined the forum to find out more information of two family members who were in the Royal air coups WW1.
The first is my Grandfather PA Pollard a test pilot and engineer during the development of the Gnome de Rhone aero engine into the Sopwith pup.
The second is Adrian George Cawson who was killed on the 30th Nov 1917, a great uncle.

gtrjazz: Welcome to the 'drome. This is the right place to come for WW1 related info. Someone should be along shortly to assist. If not, perhaps they can lead you in the right direction.

Werner Voss, yes one of the german aces, I read the account of his shooting down.
I was annoyed reading how other pilots that had served their country had being killed after the war in riots and by the Nazi party.

Welcome to the Forum GT

Dear gtrjazz, The great thing about this place is that our members have the resources to help you out. What was your uncle flying when he was killed? I might of a photo of that type of crate?

If I can help you out in the future give me a shout since I have several images of pilots and planes and I share what I have. VR, Scott Price, a.k.a. Roadhog

I thought he may have being ground crew as he was only 18, but Shredward found reference to his shooting down in High in the empty Blue. His aircraft was a SE, any photos would be appreciated

I'll Check the Shoebox...

howdy GT. Actually up until a few months agp I actually did keep my photos in an old paratrooper jump boots box (ask Tom tcrean7828). Finally, my wife convinced me to move them to a safety deposit box. I'll check for any photos of SE for you. VR, Scott
