Hello all

Hello,

I'm fascinated by military history and tend to bounce around from era to era depending on whatever I've recently read or seen or just gotten into my head. I recently started playing Wings of War and it quickly made me want to return to studying the world's first military aircraft. I've long been familar with the basic scouts, but now I'm trying to learn more about the more obscure aircraft as well as the color patterns used by various units and aces.

I'm fortunate enough to live near the National USAF museum and so have access to seeing a great many historical planes up close whenever I wish. My father works as a volunteer there and he has particpated in some of the ongoing restoration work of the Memphis Belle. The museum occassionally has a fly in of World War One replicas. I have some pics of the event that I'll try to get around to posting.

I write for a living, mostly documenting software for military logistics. I've written a World War Two Role Playing game, but it, sadly, does not cover aircraft.

I appreciate the great information that this site has made freely available. Thanks to all who have contributed to it.

Ah, me as well! I've been reading a lot on his final fight lately.
