Question 224th Aero Squadron

I have my grandfather's (John S Creighton) military information from WW1 and WWII. In the 1st World War he was a mechanic with the rank of Corporel in the US Army 224th Aero Squadron, stationed in England. I have photos of him in uniform, his military enlistement and discharge records and even a copy of the NY Times article showing the return to America after the war on the British ship Orca. He also left me a couple of "handmade" aircraft tools which as I recall he said they made in machine shops in England.

However, I cannot find records of what aircraft served in the Squadron. Can anybody help? I sort of recall as a child being told that they worked on some RFC Camels, but I was young and I am not sure.

This is my first posting.
Thanks
