   For many centuries it has been the habit of men who have acquired renown in war and been rewarded therefor with the titles of chivalry to embody in those honorable titles the names of the places where their claims to distinction were acquired.
   Recent instances that Americans will readily recognize are Lord Roberts of Kandahar, Lord Kitchner of Khartoum, Lord French of Ypres and so forth. Now for the first time in history a warrior has fetched a title out of the sky.
   The Chevalier Willy Coppens, air attache to the Belgian embassies at London and Paris, has been authorized by the king of the Belgians to add to his family name the title "de Houthulst." It was over the Houthulst sector on the Flanders front that the Chevalier Willy Coppens de Houthulst achieved the majority of his very notable aerial victories during the World war.
