Denver Ace of First World War Dies Mon.

Denver, April 18—(AP)— Jerry C. Vasconcells, 58, prominent Denver bond broker and a flying ace during the first world war, died at his home yesterday. He had been ill seven months.
Vasconcells was an uncle of movie actress Mary Astor.
He and Col. Eddie Rickenbacker were members of the same aerial squadron in France and fought together in a number of air battles with German planes. Vasconcells had joined the Royal Flying corps of Florida before this country entered the war.
He was chairman of the Colorado aeronautics commission for seven years, ending in 1943.
Vasconcells was a partner in two bond houses here. Last year he became head of the trading department of Sidlo, Simons, Roberts and company. Before the first world war he practiced law in Denver.
His widow, Mrs. Marietta Vasconcells, and a sister, Mrs. A. E. Peckinpaugh of South Gate, Calif., survive him. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
