I will start off with a question that is WWI related - what WWI aircraft type had the longest service life after the war? I know the Brisfit and the DH9a went on a long time.
AVRO 504 K was used in Belgium until 1940!
This type was constructed in Belgium from 1924 on!
Used as Military Pilots Training plane!
How many from those which were original constructed during WWI from which belgium had a number left after WWI did survive until 1940 is surely difficult to trace....but there were also other WWI types used by the Belgian Military Aviation after WWI...DH'4s and DH 9's, some WWI war butin Fokkers and such!
Than a number of these were sold to private people too! As civil plane for more!
The JN-4 with an OX-5 engine became a standard for aviation in the states for the better part of two decades after the war. Certainly among the longest lived aircraft of the Great War.
