Just for grins--this is a Consolidated PT-1 Trusty in the markings of my father's squadron--I am told it is the 430th Pursuit from about 1930 at Fairfax Field in Kansas City, Kansas. My father's log books list flights in a PT-1 and the original that I did my model after is in the San Diego Air Museum, still with its original covering including the Heart of America squadron. Note the Indian scout on his pony. There is a bronze state of the scout overlooking the Kansas City Union Station. The Scout is up on the hill with the national (the only one in the US) World War I memorial. Marshall Foche and General Pershing were at the dedication of the memorial about 1923-26. The memorial has recently undergone an extensive renovation and is well worth seeing in KC. Here is my flying model of the PT-1--made from an R/N kit at 36 inch span and is rc using electric power. It is a hoot to see in the air.
Once again--tooling around the internet uncovers a gem! I've always gone for the unusual, unsung, and altogether unknown. Which Consolidated plant built that particular model? Unless I miss my guess, they started out on the East Coast.
