Fighter Factory

Hank Jarett asked me to post these pictures that he took at the Fighter Factory located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Fighter Factory is currently sponsoring a contest whereby 8 different Aviation Maintenance schools are each building WWI replica aircraft. See the Replica aircraft thread for more details

Nice pics.

You know you're old when something you used to work on on a regular basis is proudly displayed in a museum. I spent the summer between high school and college working in a foreign car shop. Several of our customers were driving XK-120/140 Jaguars like that red bolide in the pics.

Russians

Thanks for the pictures of the Russian fighters. Many believe that the Polikarpov I-16 was the first modern monoplane fighter when it appeared in 1933-34. The I-153 were sort of retograde, and suffered at the hands of Nakajima Ki-27's..
