Japanese autogyros

One of the History Channels recently had a program concerning Japanese advanced weapons that came close to being producced for WW II. One of the most interesting to me was a small aircraft carrier built to carry a number of autogyros which would be used to hunt US subs. These devices were two place and carried small depth charges (Autos had limited lifting power). The carrier, interestingly enough, was caught and sunk by a US sub. The program also commented on two versions of the ME 262 which were close to production as well as an ME 163.
