Hi Sreiko,

"Yes it is Eduard kit and it is really pleasure kit to build."

Yours looks great. I bought the triple kit. Normally, I don't build 1/48th, however, with the I-16, I just couldn't resist. It is one the shelf with my 1/72nd and 1/32nd I-16 unbuilts waiting for "one day".

Thank you Tom

Warren- Polikarpov I-16 is the great type. First operational fighter to have full retractable landing gear and the first one who have down famous Bf109 in combat. Soviet pilot call it "Ishyak" which mean Little donkey. This is because it was a temperamental in flight as well it was thick fuselage and also short in length.

I have some archive images and drawings and if you ever decide to make kit just let me know.

Tom is right- I will add just some more field effects like the dust, dirt, smudged oil... so wait day or more for the very final result. In same time I will upload the article review on my web site as well I get this kit from Eduard for review. Sorry that I would not make review here but this is specialized WW12 forum and I try to give just flash info about the other aviation.

Cheers

Kit

One of the first of the modern monoplane fighters. It was way ahead of everybody when it first went into service. Nice kit, Sreiko.

Sreiko,
Thanks for your kind offer, I already have a good bit of research materials at hand. I have been studying this a/c for a while, and all of the little variations between the types. I like VVS a/c from the early war period (41-43) and the SCW. Do you post on the Modeling the VVS message board?

You are right Leo- very first in many aspects.

Glad that you are standing alone with your archive data Warren. I do not participate to the VVS message board and don't know for link. From my side I have my own sources and I am good with it. In general I stay away from any public and large forums. Few years ago I have released color profile of the Me262 in the Soviet colors. Then some well know "experts" are blown me in their internal private correspondence and on forum- basic claim that this is not correct. As result I was banned from few strong worlds forum and brand to evil. A year later I have published small article on my web site with archive images of this airplane, color profile and small text... nobody said "we are wrong", nobody said "I am sorry"... but I am still brand to evil.

So I have my own archive data, samples of fabric, plates with original colors, archive images, testimony of former pilots and ground crew... I have you here and I am happy
