Martha sewed another pair of jodhpurs at Brayton’s house and picked up her boots she had resoled at a shoe repair shop.

At noon, Scott Kimball picked up Martha at Pasco Tri Cities Airport in his 1962 Cessna 185 and flew Martha to Evergreen Field near Vancouver, Washington where there was a busy vintage planes fly-in starting this weekend.
[Between Pasco and Mt. St Helens, we flew past snow covered 12,000 ft tall, Mt. Adams before flying around Mt Saint Helens.]

On the way there, they flew twice around Mt. St. Helens, site of the volcano in 1980.

At the Evergreen fly-in, Scott let Martha use his pup tent. She pitched it under the left wing of his plane. He slept under the right wing.

Martha flew in two Travelairs – with Jack Lanning; Jim Fernandez and Stu Mac Pherson was in formation with them. She then flew with Carol Bell in a 1929 Fleet. At 3 p.m. she flew in a fly-by with three women pilots - Jan Liberty in her Cessna 170 [alongside two other Cessna 170 women pilots, Sara Shapiro and Cathy White].

She attended the evening banquet in the huge hangar, where they had awards for the pilots and airplanes, great food and dancing, and she spoke briefly to the audience - specifically thanked Kent Blankenburg, Stu MacPherson, Carol Bell, Jan Liberty, Scott Kimble and the other pilots who were in attendance and have given her a ride in their airplanes.
Martha slept inside a Cessna 185 this night.
