The first photograph is of the Curtiss R3C-2, the type with which J.H. Doolittle won the 1925 Schneider Trophy contest flying for the U.S. Army.
The second photograph is of the Curtiss R3C-2 piloted by G.T. Cuddihy, which retired on the seventh lap of the 1925 Schneider Trophy contest due to oil loss and an engine fire, flying for the U.S. Navy.
The third photograph and fourth photograph are of the Williams-Mercury which flew once in 1929, but, never competed in a Schneider Trophy race (or any other race). It had proven difficult to take the aircraft off from the water surface and the project was abandoned.
Salut mon ami!
