N2S Upper Wing Build

End view of upper right wing wood structure. The ribs are laser cut and each little reinforcement is cut and fitted on each side of the rib. Time consuming detail. The spars are rectangular brass tube laminated with 1/64th plywood, then top and bottom caps are cut and fitted between each rib, again time consuming. The brass eliminates wing deflection and twisting when rigging and sag over time.

Upper right wing attached to center section.

Bottom view of center wing section, the copper shape is the rear view mirror holder. Eventually the wing leading edge will have an aluminum leading edge like the center section. The round shapes with petcocks are the gas filter holders and gas line attachment points

Here is a shot of the upper wing attached to the fuselage with the "In progress" engine in place. This is a scratch build using wood, brass, copper and aluminum as required.

Enjoy! Ken
