RENO AIR RACES September 10 - 14, 2008 - an invitation

AN INVITATION

to all warbird race fans, here...
if any fellow aerodromers here would like to go to the reno air races and have a great place to watch it from and camp under the flight path and go to a big backyard party, PM me. i'll forward your name to be on the privileged parking list on a street that's accessed during the races by only the homeowners and their named guests. my friend said in a second e-mail i can invite up to 20 guests, so don't think about it too long. great opportunity to experience some beautiful and exciting noise. woohoo!

here's the e-mail i got from him:
Quote:
Hi Martha - You up for another offer of High Adventure? A friend of mine, Bob the Builder has a house right on the race course of the Reno Air Races. He bought the house especially because of the races and has a party every year. Only home owners are allowed on the course and you can get some great pictures. Sometimes the Unlimiteds fly 100 feet right over your head at 500 mph. Bob has a lot of room at his house and the kids might have fun too. Anyway you're invited and it would be great to see you again.
Your friend, Butch

I assume you're referring to another Mike....
Although I'd love to go, the need to maintain my positive cash flow precludes taking any time off before Thanksgiving....

yes, another mike, mike.

positive cash flow. what is that?

factors that make it a must-go for me: never been - have always wanted to go. son is perfect age (17) to accompany me and have a blast. invitation is from one of my journey hosts for free camping/ barbeque/party under the race flight path and bring friends = a once in a lifetime opportunity. three hour drive. just hoping my 12 year-old car makes it there and back without breaking down. might have to bring along a cardboard sign that says, "will paint P-51's for gas $"

Ahh...an artist's soul and an artist's bank account. One's full and the other is not.
