This past Labor day, a truly Historic airplane returned to the skies at Golden Age Air Museum in Bethel Pennsylvania.
A Monocoupe Model 70 airplane with local history as well as overall historic value was flown for the first time in 40 years. from all accounts there is only one other "70" flying in the US on the west coast.
This particular airplane hung in a Restaurant in the Reading Pennsylvania area as the centerpiece for 40 years. after re-covering the tail surfaces and the wings with modern materials, the airplane took to the skies on an orignal Velie M-5 65 HP radial engine. Talk about a neat sound. Its model number was chosen from its Approved Type Certificate ATC 70
