The issue of FlyPast in question was accurate for 2007, when it was written. The photographs in the article were current and each plane mentioned did fly that year. In fact, the ORA web site thanked Mr. Dumigan for his article.

since you mentioned the avro in the line-up, my guess is that photo was taken back some 20 or 30 years ago.
Do you have anything to base that speculation on? The AVRO has been back at the aerodrome since 2007 and has flown and been displayed on the flight line ever since. Again, I draw your attention to the ORA website where an account of its history and current status is written about in great detail.

In case anyone cares...
Airliners.net has a photo of GDM flying his #21 yellow/black Stampe on the opposite side of this world! Taken in Nov. 2008, a very cool pic - even though he is a schmuck. Wonder if his(?) Cessna 310 & Howard are with him also? Just do a search using "Stampe" and it will appear on the 1st page of Stampe pics. And a question... what ever happened to that Stampe that was donated to ORA a couple of years back? I was at the Aerodrome last July and it was nowhere to be seen, at least not where the paying customers were allowed to roam! Also, any more news on what caused the Nieuport to auger in?

It was stored in the back of the new hanger on the other side of the field in June. Looks like it was moved later in the season to the hanger by the workshop. Here is a photo from October.

Stampe info:
Thanks for the info & pic of the Stampe. Strange as it may seem, I myself miss seeing a Stampe (any Stampe) in the skies over Old Rhinebeck. It was a beautiful sight seeing BK's Tiger Moth and GDM's Stampe flying together for all those airshow seasons! Perhaps the aviation gods will enable the current Stampe to put air under its tires again and join the Tiger Moth, they would fill Rhinebecks skies most beautifully, for sure!! Thanks again for the info and the photo.

At the rate that things occur your wish will never happen. Bill King isn't getting any younger, you know.

Stampetastic
The Stampe was taken down to the Shop this past season to be considered for restoration to flying condition. It has been put on hold for now, because the board would like the Great Lakes, Camel, and Dolphin restored first. That said, the Stampe is really close to being done, it blew a cylinder about 4 years ago, and fixing that is all the work it really needs. It would be nice to see it flying again, its a great looking aircraft.
