The new Air Show schedule page has been updated and with another sad reminder of the decline at ORA.

Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome | Show Schedule 2009

The Museum's opening date is only one week before the opening air show. That's three weeks short of what it has been in years past. Three weeks of less opportunities to visit.

What will the BOD think up next?

The news page has also had an addition. It is the freshening of the D.VII.

Salute!

Well, maybe no news was good news after all! I'm happy to see the progress of the DVII was finally put up on the ORA website. From the pictures it looks like Bill Gordon and his team have been doing some spectacular work and was that a Dolphin wing I saw in the back of one of the pictures? Very encouraging stuff!

Unhappy What are the dates of the Rhinebeck R/C meet Jamboree

I've just viewed the 2009 schedule on the ORA website and note a conflict with the Mid-Hudson Radio Control Society's web site. ORA lists the R/C meet as being scheduled for Sept 5-6 while Mid-Hudson lists Sept 13-14. Which is correct? I need to know soon to make appropriate lodging reservations.

Thumbs down

Ooo! no! I had reservations for the Model meet on the 12 & 13. But yesterday, after looking at ORA schedule, I changed them to 5 & 6!

Would someone please find out and let us know.

.... they can't even get a schedule right, so sad.

BTW, ORA's E-mail contact form returns an error when used, go figure.

Mid-Hudson site lists correct dates

I contacted Mid-Hudson R/C Society this morning and received an extremely prompt reply. They confirm that, as in previous years, the Jamboree will be held the weekend after Labor Day and that the dates on their web site are correct.

Thus the incorrect dates on the ORA web site are just another example of the current lack of care by the people in charge.

Best,

Hellcat

Noticed that in the hoopla surrounding the contruction and flight of the NZ "Fee" reproduction, the pilot was listed a Mr. deMarco. Is that the same Mr. DeMarco of ORA infamy?

I really don’t think there is anyone in attendance who knows what is authentic or not. Everyone who did know or care was falsely accused of being a thief or run off for not playing ball with the BOD.

What really stands out to me is that the crosses are incorrect and will not match the rest of the markings making it look less authentic and more of a hodge podge. ...like the Renault tank modifications?

Also missing from the ORA’s 2009 schedule page is that the weekend of August 22/23 is VNF weekend in honor of the late Vinny Nasta.

Oh, please don’t worry! They will be more than happy to take your money either weekend you show up. After all, isn’t that what is really important? You must be aware that $ totals for admissions and biplane rides took preference over being a museum a while back. You showing up on the wrong weekend is of no concern to them. That's your problem

Salute,
Steve
