I stand corrected. Seems pretty counterintuitive of a request to make for taildraggers.
Oh yes, by the way- PAGE 400! wow-

Its Been a Long Time Away
I have been cruising on 2 wheels all over this great land. I have tried to forget the Aerodrome and this forum. Now that I am back, all I can say is Wow. Oh man, Wow. No corrective action taken. Wow. Walks away. Wow. Misleads the FAA. Wow. Do I find this surprising? Not at all. We're talking about the Gene pool from L.I. They should not be allowed to populate at ORA. Are they thinking of forming a new group? There is a Rock band with the name already. Crash Test Dummies. Maybe TD can name himself and or them, Tommy and The Drifters, or Drifting Tommy, or Daly Drifter. I like that last one.Take a vote. Take a ride, get real close to nature in a swamp. Well lets hope this time the plane was insured, not like the last time. A total loss.Thats, if the insurance pays. Oh, is Jim Kick the insurance agent? Good luck Bosco. I wonder how much money the place has lost because of bad decisions and policies. Doesn't anybody do their job anymore? What is the state doing with the petition? What is the FAA doing about the False report about the accident? I have alot more to say, but I am going back on two wheels for a ride. More to say later.

This point seems to have cleared itself up, as a more recent, and complete report was filed , if I am not mistaken in what Oswald posted earlier.
Another question to ask is why the Poughkeepsie Journal pulled the article mentioning the accident from their archives- essentially creating a media black-out of the incident.
It is understandable to try to save face for the ORA, since nobody was injured- a gentelmen's agreement to keep it to one's self perhaps? No- 17,000 hits on the U-tube video really set things off. Seeing the video is really something. It shows a slow rolling craft that is pointing at the trees.
My mouth would have released quite a few more expletives a wee bit earlier had I been stuck to that bird at that moment.
Watch out for idiots on the highway-they usually fail to see bikes.

Good to hear from you WingNut. I was seriously concerned something bad had happened to you. Maybe the next time I come down on my two wheels we can get together for a short ride and mebbe lunch at Pete's Famous Restaurant.
Note the comment above by Bitz. The FAA apparently converted the spurious report incident to a crash report. The investigation findings have yet to be released, but we should see it within a month or two.
Salute!
Sandy

Its Been Awhile Part Two
One of my hero's is Glenn Curtiss. I finally went to The Glenn Curtiss Museum up in Hammondsport N.Y. What a great museum. The volunteers were so gracious, informative, and appreciative. They sat me down, showed me all around and informed me of how they operate and what their future plans were.Hours of extremely friendly conversation. What a pleasure. One peculiar large biplane, the 1916 America, was built by volunteers in three years. Three years! The volunteers work everyday. Everyday. This very large aeroplane flies as does most of their replicas. The museum is not only supported by the members, but is supported by the local community. Special events, bring out the whole town. I think back, ORA had similar karma when the Old Guard was there. Hard work, volunteers, talented people, fund raising events, work parties, planning, basically Kick Ass people, getting things done for the benefit of the museum. That, sadly is no longer. This inept people in charge is a crime. They are lost in their own ego. They have tried for so many years and it gets worse as time goes on. I ask, I reach out, Dean Ryder and Jim Kick, please go away. You have failed the museum in so many ways. Another great museum to visit besides The Curtiss museum is The Golden Age Museum in Bethal PA. Wonderful growth and people. Both Curtiss and Golden Air put out great newsletters that come out on time. Where is ORA.What once was a world renowned museum has turned to a junkyard. What has ORA built, restored in house, built or bought, or what have they done positive. Nothing in my opinion.

Well, to be honest, they did resurrect the hand sanitizer outside the Port-a-Potties. That must account for something. ....no?
Salute,
Steve

The "museum" and museum hangars at ORA are a disgrace. No other way around it.
How people could simply leave things to rot at a place that's supposed to be about preserving history is beyond imagination.

Fatal Findings?
Has there been any decisive cause found regarding the fatality last summer? Was wondering if the official results from the NTSB/FAA are out yet.

We miss an important point here.
The Board is not interested in anything more than the ability to claim that they are on the board of something. This is a mirror of Condo Association boards and Parent Teacher Associations...
I am afraid that a lot of effort will be expended, in an effort to overcome the slime, but the slime will persist, in the end.
