Jenny JN-4D

I have a suggestion about the Jenny on Ebay. Make the price of a share $1000. Sell half and full shares in any combination. Shares would have to be sold to pay for restoration. All share holders not only receive documentation of ownership but, free rides as well. We give Ken as pilot and restorer "x" number of shares (as decided), for his work and maintenance. Once the Aerodrome is back in good hands, we send the plane there to be used in air shows and for giving rides to generate capital. If the plane is ever sold, each share holder will receive payment for their share(s).

This is only a rough idea and I welcome anyone to fine tune it. Personally, I can't afford a whole share, but could swing a half one. Some folks might want more than one share. If this sounds like a plausible deal, then I say we put it on some other threads and spread the offer around. The more shares sold the better.

Also, this will only be conceivable if the final bid doesn't meet the owners reserved price. That would give us a little time to put apackage together and raise the capital.

Salute!

tazbat, you are BRILLIANT!!!
Now, carry on and get this thing going! Time's a wasting. I've got to go to work. Hope to see lots of shareholders in when I check back in.

I might be in on a share, or maybe a 1/2 share. Gotta talk to the Mrs before I can confirm.

Is Ken (or somebody who can do the restore) in already?

I am but a poor college student, but this is a great idea and I would be willing to help in any way I could!

I think Cole would approve!

(edit) Also, someone should be sure to get the contact information on the seller so that it does not end up on ebay again, and so that he would be made aware of any plans on our end.

hey, looks like this WAS the place to put that eBay listing!

Count me in for a half share. and as far as selling off shares for restoration, we should offer the other shareholders First Right of Refusal....try to keep it in the family, so to speak. Who else do we need to get the word out to? I swear, a year from now i could have bought the whole kittenkaboodle (how do you spell kaboodle? WHAT is a kaboodle?) but right now, half share OK!

good luck!

Hold on a second -

Are we talking about approaching the seller with an offer if it doesn't sell in the auction? Or trying to bid in the auction?

I'd say - I retract my begging of your pardon, Jim.

Could anyone hazard a guess - or is it even possible to from the scant info we have - as to how much restoration might cost? I'm figuring it would take a couple of years, assuming there is someone qualified to do it and plenty of people to help that someone or someones, but I wouldn't have a clue as to $$$. We should figure that in. Having an engine (and a "brand new" one, at that!) is definitely a bonus, but what kind of shape is the structure in? If we're planning to try and make an offer should the auction fail, I would sure like to get a look at her in person first.

Well, not ME - somebody who knows what they're looking at.

Alright, Ladies and Gentlemen. I've confirmed two different places I could house the old girl temporarily. I haven't figured out where this East Liberty, Ohio is because Mapblast shows three - but none of them are more than two hours from me. If we can get this together - and if no one else snatches her up - I'll handle transportation and storage until a shop is set up. I'll kick in whatever I can financially. That might not be a whole lot over the next few months, but I PROMISE I won't ever charge anybody any "hangar rent."

And I get to sit in her and make engine noises whenever I want for as long as she's here, ok?

$500

Sorry, I already put my $500 into the legal fund, so that we will have a place to fly the airplane when the time comes.

I have already emailed the seller but have not received a reply.

Remember!
This all depends on the final bid not meeting the reserve. If the reserve is met, then we go back to more important things, as discussed in the Rhinebeck Trouble thread, with one less toy.

Salute!
